American actor Courtney Thorne Smith was born on November 8, 1967. Her most well-known roles include her roles on Melrose Place, Alison Parker on Melrose Place, Georgia Thomas on Ally McBeal, Cheryl in According to Jim and her regular role in Two and a Half Men as Lyndsey McElroy. Thorne-Smith was born and raised in San Francisco, California, and grew up in Menlo Park, a suburb south of San Francisco. Her father, Walter Smith, was an analyst in the field of computer markets, as was her mother, Lora Thorne, was a therapist. Courtney was seven when her parents divorced. Courtney lived with both parents at various times. Jennifer, her older sibling is an ad executive. She attended the Menlo-Atherton high school in Atherton, California and graduated Tamalpais High School in Mill Valley in 1985. She also performed with the Ensemble Theater Company in Mill Valley while attending high school. Thorne-Smith was the first actress to make an appearance in the feature film drama Lucas, alongside Winona Ryder, Corey Haim, and Charlie Sheen. In the late 1980s , she was also in a number of films, including Welcome to 18 (1986), Revenge of the Nerds II (Nerds in Paradise) (1987), Summer School (1987) and Side Out(90). In 1998, she was a star in the box office failure Chairman of The Board alongside Carrot Top. Thorne-Smith was in Sorority Wars in 2009. In the early 1990s, she began a relationship with Andrew Shue, her on-screen lover from Melrose Place. In June 2000, she tied the knot with Andrew Conrad, a geneticist. The couple separated in January 2001. Roger Fishman (president of Zizo Group the company that markets) and the author of What I Know was her wedding date. On the 11th of January 2008, aged 40, she gave birth to Jacob Emerson Fishman, her son. Jacob Emerson Fishman.
