American actor Courtney Thorne Smith was born on November 8, 1967. Her most well-known roles include her roles on Melrose Place, Alison Parker on Melrose Place, Georgia Thomas on Ally McBeal, Cheryl in According to Jim and her regular role in Two and a Half Men as Lyndsey McElroy. Thorne-Smith was born and raised in San Francisco, California, and grew up in Menlo Park, a suburb south of San Francisco. Her father, Walter Smith, was an analyst in the field of computer markets, as was her mother, Lora Thorne, was a therapist. Courtney was seven when her parents divorced. Courtney lived with both parents at various times. Jennifer, her older sibling is an ad executive. She attended the Menlo-Atherton high school in Atherton, California and graduated Tamalpais High School in Mill Valley in 1985. In the early 1990s, she began a relationship with Andrew Shue, her on-screen lover from Melrose Place. In June 2000, she tied the knot with Andrew Conrad, a geneticist.
